What is ING Assistance?
The best possible insurance cover for you, your
family, your vehicle, your home and even your pet. In Belgium and
Europe (except for countries at war).
Who is it for?
Any individual with an ING Current account
whose residence is located in Belgium, the Grand Duchy of
Luxembourg or within 25 kilometres of the border of these
countries. The policyholder must live usually in Belgium (at least
180 days per year) or in one of the above-mentioned countries
(again, at least 180 days per year).
The beneficiaries are:
- the policyholder.
- all persons residing at the same address as the
policyholder.
- single children who after their parents' divorce
live elsewhere in Belgium but who come to visit the insured person
are also covered by ING Assistance to the extent they are dependent
on the insured or divorced partner for tax purposes.
- other persons (residing in Belgium) transported
freely in the insured vehicle (only in the event of a road traffic
accident, mechanical breakdown or theft of the insured
vehicle).
In practice
The policy takes effect
- either at the latest on the day following the
printout of the specific conditions.
- or on the initial agreed date.

ING Assistance basic cover:
Additionnal options
- Additional vehicles: allows you to insure
your other vehicles for only 50 euros a year per vehicle.
- Medical expenses 1,000,000 euros:
increases the threshold for repayment of your medical expenses to
1,000,000 euros!
- Additional months: extends your standard
cover abroad (90 consecutive days) by one month.
Premium
- 180 euros per year for your whole family.
- Additional vehicles: 50 euros per year per
vehicle.
- Medical expenses 1,000,000 euros: 50 euros per
month of additional extension.
- Additional months: 40 euros per additional
month.
Term
Annual policy renewed tacitly each year.

What to do in the event of an
accident?

Which vehicles does ING Assistance
cover?
The vehicle of your choice
Its registration number must appear in the
specific terms and conditions. The following vehicles can be
covered by ING Assistance, provided that their maximum authorised
weight is less than 3.5 tonnes and that their length does not
exceed six metres:
- motorcycle
- car
- vehicles designed for the transport of both
passengers and goods
- off-road vehicles
- motor-homes
- minibuses
- towed caravans
- towed camping-cars and
- towed trailers.

To insure another supplementary vehicle,
how much should I pay?
For just 50 euros per vehicle per year,
the additional vehicle option allows you to insure up to nine
additional vehicles corresponding to the same conditions as
mentioned above.
What does ING Assistance do if the
vehicle is forced to remain off the road after a breakdown or
accident?
ING Assistance takes care of:
- sending a repairman to the location.
- towing the vehicle to your garage.
- the costs related to this work, except the
repair costs, which remain payable by you.
- the fitting of a spare wheel on the spot or a
tow to the closest garage. However, ING Assistance does not take
charge of these costs if you do not have a spare wheel in good
condition or original repair kit.
- the costs of sending parts that cannot be found
abroad but are needed for the repair and smooth functioning of your
vehicle, the organisation of this shipment and any related
expenses. The cost of the parts themselves remains payable by the
insured person.
Out of fuel
ING Assistance sends a service provider so you
can reach the closest service station. You pay the ensuing fuel
cost.
Keys locked in the vehicle
ING Assistance gets to the spot to open the
doors.
Theft or loss of keys:
You can call ING Assistance in the following
circumstances:
- if you have a copy of the keys at home:
ING Assistance organises and takes care of the costs of a taxi
(return trip) to your home, up to 65 euros.
- if you do not own a copy of the keys or
cannot reach home: ING Assistance informs you of the steps to
take with the car manufacturer to obtain a copy of your keys.
What to do if your vehicle is
stolen?

00: call ING Assist'Line to agree practical terms and
conditions regarding your Assistance. Then send the acknowledgement
of the claim submission to ING Assistance by fax to + 32 2 738 94
82 or by post to ING Claims – Internal mail 472 – Cours St
Michel/Sint-Michiels Warande, 70 – B-1040 Brussels.
Declare the theft immediately to the police
or the local constabulary: that is, within 24 hours of when the
vehicle is stolen or you notice it is stolen.
What does ING Assistance do for you?
- Transport of the stranded insured persons to
their destination or to the vehicle if it is found.
- Recovery of the vehicle if it is found.
- Repatriation of the vehicle if it is no longer
roadworthy;
- If needed, the cost of a night at a hotel abroad
up to the amount of 65 euros.
Replacement vehicle
- the vehicle was stolen in Belgium:
- ING Assistance will provide you with a
replacement vehicle until yours is found (at most 30 days).
- If the vehicle is found within these 30 days AND
has to be repaired, the period will be extended by the time needed
for the repair (for a maximum period of another 30 days).
- the vehicle is stolen abroad:
- ING Assistance will provide you with a
replacement vehicle until yours is found (at most 5 days).
- If the vehicle is found within these 5 days AND
has to be repaired, the period will be extended by the time needed
for the repair (for a maximum period of another 5 days).
Does ING Assistance take care of
repatriating the vehicles?
Absolutely, if:
- your vehicle is unusable due to an accident or a
mechanical breakdown or proves unusable if found after it is
stolen.
- you are in Belgium and it cannot be repaired
immediately.
- you are abroad and your vehicle cannot be
repaired within a period of five business days.
You have two options: have the vehicle repaired
on the spot ... or not.
In the event of repairs on the spot
If you decide to have the insured vehicle
repaired on the spot but you cannot wait for the repairs, ING
Assistance takes care of:
- the organisation and costs of transferring the
vehicle to your home after it is repaired.
- or a train or plane ticket so you can go and
collect your vehicle once it is repaired.
- if need be, ING Assistance will pay for a night
in a hotel up to the amount of 65 euros.
In the event of not having a repair on the spot
If you do not want to have your vehicle
repaired on the spot or if a such a repair looks impossible, ING
Assistance takes care of:
- organising the repatriation of the vehicle to
the garage of your choice.
- the expenses relating to this repatriation.
- the costs of your vehicle's security from the
day it is off-roaded until the day it is repatriated.
The costs paid by ING Assistance cannot exceed
the residual value of the vehicle on the day of the call
(reference: Eurotaxe).
Inability to drive the vehicle
ING Assistance organises and pays for the
transfer of the vehicle to your home or provides you with a train
or plane ticket to collect your repaired vehicle.
